Collection

Hand-stitched in Bathinda. Shipped worldwide.

The Morni Chandra Series is the soul of Pehrawa Boutique. Every piece in this collection carries our signature peacock embroidery — "Morni" is Punjabi for peacock, "Chandra" refers to the moon-like circular patterns the design is built around. The result is a peacock with fanned-out feathers, hand-stitched in thread on premium Giza Cotton at our Bathinda workshop.

This is not a printed graphic and not a machine-embroidered overlay. Every Morni Chandra piece takes 2-4 days of focused hand-stitching by women artisans who learned the technique from their mothers. The full story behind the craft is in our Morni Chandra blog post.

Multicolour vs Golden/Silver Variants

The Morni Chandra series comes in two finishes. The multicolour variant uses 6-10 thread colours per piece — appropriate for daytime celebrations like Vaisakhi, school heritage events, and naming ceremonies. The golden/silver variant uses metallic threads for formal occasions — Gurpurab, Sikh weddings, and evening events where you want the embroidery to catch light.

For a side-by-side comparison and price differences, see our multicolour Kudta Chadra ($125 kids) and golden variant ($145 kids). Adult versions are at $199 across both finishes.

Pair It with the Complete Pehrawa Bundle

A Morni Chandra Kudta Chadra is the centrepiece of a traditional Punjabi outfit, but the full look (Pehrawa) requires the matching Jutti, Kaintha, and Pagg. We coordinate these pieces in-house at our Bathinda workshop so the colours flow from kurta to jutti without any visible mismatch.

For the bundled pricing, see our Kids Complete Pehrawa at $199 with free worldwide shipping or Adults Complete Pehrawa at $299 free shipping. The bundle saves $35-$41 versus buying pieces separately.

Frequently Asked Questions

How long does the Morni Chandra embroidery take to stitch?
A single Kudta Chadra takes 2-4 days of focused hand-stitching from a master artisan, depending on multicolour vs golden/silver complexity. Total order-to-delivery time is 2-4 weeks — see our custom stitching timeline for the breakdown.
Will the embroidery hold up in a washing machine?
Hand wash recommended — cool water, mild detergent, no scrubbing on embroidered areas. Air dry in shade. With this care, our pieces typically last 5-7 years across 2-3 children. Full care guide is in the FAQ on each product page.
Can I get my child's name embroidered alongside the peacock?
Yes — Gurmukhi or English Roman name embroidery is included at no extra cost. Specify in order notes or message Veerpal on WhatsApp. See our Gurmukhi name embroidery guide for examples.
